It truly is!

The holidays are around the corner and with this comes many emotions such as joy, sadness, depression, anxiety, etc. AllOne Healthy acknowledges that nearly a quarter of Americans reported feeling “extreme stress” come holiday time, according to a poll by the American Psychological Association. Holiday stress statistics show that up to 69 percent of people are stressed by the feeling of having a “lack of time,” 69 percent are stressed by perceiving a “lack of money,” and 51 percent are stressed out about the “pressure to give or get gifts.”

According to Katie Richards of Glossy, for Gen Z, Instagram is a prime channel for discovery, ahead of Snapchat, YouTube and Facebook. Therefore, my Facebook community, It’s Fine. Everything’s Fine., recently turned to Instagram to reach Generation Z and give them tips to de-stress this season!

Brent Barnhart of Sprout Social states that one of the most important things to remember when gearing content towards Gen Z is that it needs to include eye-catching, visual content. Chalk it up to being born with smartphones in their hands, but Gen Z’s addiction to eye-popping visuals is well-documented. Research suggests that much of what makes social media so compelling to Gen Z is a combination of creativity and interactivity. You can almost think of Gen Z and social media as a game of call and response. Anything you can do to encourage interaction or pose questions via social is a plus.

Although I am a millennial, I also appreciate going on social media and feeling called to act, such as letting Starbucks know what my favorite drink is! This makes me feel more connected and appreciated by a brand/individual.

So, without further ado, Gen Z-ers, please enjoy these six steps to making your 2020 holiday season a little brighter:
